Network Attached Storage can also be used with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 as a backup repository. These Network Attached Storage devices can be accessed and configured via a shared folder on your computer or any other physical device accessed using the SMB protocol.
1. Login to the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Manager server.
2. Open the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 console.
3. Select Backup Infrastructure on the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 console page.

4. On the Backup Infrastructure page, right-click Backup Repositories and select Add backup repository.

5. On the Backup repository name and description page, enter the backup repository name in the Name field and click Next.

6. Select Backup to local disk on the Target location for your backups page and click Next.

7. On the Backup proxy page, click Select in the Backup proxy or proxy pool.

8. Select the target proxy server and click OK.

9. On the Backup proxy page, type \\VBM365V8PROXY03\share in the Path and click Get free space.

10. Click Next on the Backup proxy page.

11. Select the Retention policy period on the Retention policy settings page.
12. Select the retention type and click Finish.
Note:
The retention type cannot the changed once set.

13. Verify that the Backup Repository has been added.
